Today we celebrated the achievements of our Peterson Lab class of 2023. Each and everyone of you have been an indispensable asset to our lab in the last years. Summer Research Internships
Since summer is just around the corner, we want to officially congratulate our undergraduate students Jesus Rosario, Ayeisha Colón, and Dalissa Negrón who will be representing us in the United States this summer during their summer research internships. We are honored to say that each one of them received various offers from prestigious universities to attend this summer!
Jesus will be going to the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, while both Ayeisha and Dalissa will be attending the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. We are so proud of you guys! Hard work truly pays off! |

Come listen to our PI, Dr. Esther Peterson, in the seminar "Inflammatory Breast Cancer, Treatment and Estrogen Signaling Pathways" hosted by the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus. From Puerto Rico to Harvard
We would like to officially congratulate our master’s student, Carlos Morales. Carlos was just accepted at the Systems, Synthetic, and Quantitative Biology Ph.D. Program at Harvard Medical School starting next fall. “The main reason I was able to get this opportunity was because of the knowledge and skills I gained while being at Dr. Peterson’s Breast Cancer Research Lab”. Congratulations Carlos, we are proud of you and will miss you!

Having studied in Cora herfself, Keishla explained her current doctoral thesis project at UPR-RP and how she puts to good use all the knowledge gained at CORA.

We would like to congratulate our lab member Jeisac Guzmán. Jeisac received not one, but two offers at Rutgers University for PhD Programs! He will continue his doctoral studies in the Multidisciplinary PhD Program in Biomedical Sciences focused on Molecular Biology, Genetics and Cancer (MBGC) Track. We are proud of you Jeisac!

Touched by a macrophage: macrophage-tumor cell communication in tumor progression
Come join us at the research seminar offered by the RISE/MARC Program from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. It is hosted by our mentor Dr. Peterson. Today, we will meet Dr. Dianne Cox, Dr. Peterson's mentor during her post-doctoral studies at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Cox's lab focuses on studying the mechanisms of macrophage recruitment and function.
